Description: 10,000+ Hens and Chicks Heirloom Papaever Somniferum Poppy Seeds. Beautiful, Huge Flowers. US Seller, Fast Shipping There are 3,300 seeds in one gram. You will receive a minimum of 3.4 grams (11,000+ seeds) per order. Characterized by its unique pod, this variety of Poppy Flower Seed will not disappoint in your garden! The Hens and Chicks Poppy features a single large seed head with clustered smaller heads around its base. This poppy is prized for the amount of seed produced by its huge individual pods. Growing Instructions: Plant poppy seeds in fall or late spring / early summer after the last frost. Most poppies require a period of stratification - these seeds have already been stratified. Soak seeds in water for 12-24 hours. Select a sunny spot with well draining, sandy type soil. Scatter seeds and very gently rake to distribute. Cover with no more than 1/16" of soil. Mist the soil whenever it appears dry. Germination occurs in 7-20 days. Reduce frequency of irrigation once poppies reach 2-3” high as they do not like damp growing conditions. Do not plant in really hot weather. These seeds DO NOT like to germinate in Mid-Summer like weather, the best planting times being Fall-thru-late Spring. Poppies do not do well as transplants. The intended use of these seeds is for planting. FDA Disclaimer: This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Domestic US Shipping Only.
