Description: From a forgotten box in my office closet (and a Tucson estate at least fifteen years ago) is this mid century or so 10K solid yellow gold ring showcasing two (2) 8mm baroque pearls. The 1960's icon of cocktail glamour will please those who embrace an American post war "modern" aesthetic and prefer genuine rather than some retro interpretation from the mall. The two lustrous orbs are interesting in their slightly asymmetric way, one being a bit golden and the other a bit more white. They are well supported by the petaled terminals of a well crafted bypass style mount. There is "TCJI 10K" (struck slightly off center though clear enough) for maker and fineness. So you know, "TCJI" is an early mark of Town and Country Jewelry. Weight is good for the form at about 3.4 grams on my portable digital scale. Condition is quite fine with an aura of time to the gold. Be aware I have avoided every urge to refresh or "improve" those honest surfaces - you want that done you do it. The pearls are well preserved, showing just usual and expected minor signs of previous finger duty (the kind seen under close inspection with a 10X loop). There is a tiny amount of original adhesive residue showing under one, a nitpicking mention made for the obsessive. Everything simply validates a genuine history. A look at the pics should give a good idea of appearance and condition. Size is about 7 1/4 on my jeweler's ring mandrel (the bottom edge of the shank reaches that line on the mandrel). About 1/2 in. vertical at the front - so yes it will be noticed.
