Description: This is a stunning casserole dish made by the famous contemporary potter John Givvines of North Carolina. John was in the art department at Meredith College as well as worked in his studio, Sphericles of Rare Device. He is best known for his modern sgraffito line work as demonstrated in this dish. This piece is a base and lid. Measures 12" in diameter and 6.25" high with lid, 2.75" to the rim. It weighs approximately 6 lbs. Very heavy but a beautiful dish for serving or as a decorative piece in your home. Unsure of heat tolerance for the oven. Excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or other issues.
