Description: I need to clear some space on my shelves, so I need to part with some of my collection. A friend of mine used to trick out his Star Wars models with LEDs and fiber optics and I always admired his results. He tried to convince me that it was not hard to do once you know the right parts. Revell has made that much easier by supplying the right parts in their Technik line of kits. For this release, they took their newest large-scale kit of one of the most beautiful and beloved aircraft of WWII and brought it to life with motors, lights and sound effects. I would have loved this as a young modeler, and I know my wife would let me display it if I built it today. I found over a dozen listings for this kit on eBay (all from overseas), but as a Top Rated Plus US Seller, I have this in stock and can reliably ship this very quickly. Here is some of the info I found from around the web about this high-tech kit: The revell.de site has a wonderful page for this high-tech kit that shows the superior box art, a finished model and some of the electronic components. They give a blurb about the kit and a short list of features: The iconic Spitfire now really comes to life as a Technology Kit: fully automated the model runs a realistic start sequence with harmoniously starting engine and switching on the navigation lights. The whole thing is supported by the authentic sound of the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine. · Plastic model kit (non-assembled)· Illustrated, multilingual assembly instructions· Decal set· Electronic components Scalemates.com shows that this is a 2020 release based on a new tooling from 2014 with the special Technik parts added. They have a link to the complete full-color 32-page instruction set and painting guide. They also provide links to countless aftermarket parts and references. Jürgen Bellenbaum published an In-Box Review on the German-language ipmsdeutschland.de site that shows large photos of the sprues, key parts and the special Technik components. He gives great tips, like the LEDs are white and need to be painted the proper colors. He felt the addition of the electronics was well done, although experienced modelers may not use them. About the physical kit, he said: “The individual plastic parts are cleanly molded, which suggests that the mold has not yet had too many inserts. Rivet rows and other filigree engravings are reproduced very accurately. I could not detect any burrs, as well as ejector marks are only in places that are no longer visible later.” Yuth posted a lengthy In-Box Review on the French-language laroyale-modelisme.net site. We get shots of all of the parts along with a comprehensive narrative, full of helpful tips. The author was very happy with the quality and fit of the parts and summarized by saying: “A nice kit on a beautiful scale. The details are pretty and the assembly should be done with ease. Regarding the addition of the set "Technik", I am divided. It will bring a real plus to those who want to put it on a set (on the grassy track of Biggin Hill at random) or simulate it in flight.” There is a 16.5 minute Unboxing Video on YouTube by Ranger_Chris61 for the “non-Technik” Mk. IXc kit (Revell #03927). He liked the detail and precision of the parts, saying he was “thoroughly impressed”. The sound goes in and out at times, but the narration is very informative. The only drawback of this review is the omission of the Technik parts. This kit is in a large, gorgeous box about 18.5” x 13” x 5”. As you can see from the pictures, the package is in perfect condition and still sealed with the four original large tape disks, so it is factory sealed and absolutely gift-ready. This item contains one complete Mark IXc Spitfire kit with over 150 light grey and clear plastic parts and a large decal sheet along with the electronic Technik parts (a power pack, a motor for the prop, a sound module with speaker and four LEDs). I use eBay Managed Payments, but I no longer ship internationally. Auction winner pays winning bid and for a limited time, this large kit is offered with $12 Flat Rate Shipping in the US! No reserve and a low starting bid. Check out my other great auctions for combined shipping. Good luck! Those familiar with my listings can tell that I really enjoy these products and the modeling hobby. I like to provide more than just the bare facts about the items, trying to lead you into discovering more about the subjects and optimizing your builds (if that is your goal). I started out picking up models that I was interested in, with the eye toward building them when I had time. Always a bargain-hunter, I accumulated many more than I can build, so I found myself in a Collector status (sounds nicer than a hoarder). As I am sure you have noticed, my items are almost always sealed and in mint condition (I call them Gift-Ready), since I only open them when I am ready to build them. Now I enjoy making these products available to my fellow modelers; both Builders and Collectors. For the Builders, there are probably better (at least cheaper) ways to add to your project lists than buying from me, but you know you are getting top quality. For Collectors, my goal is to save you a few bucks over the competition for the same item in factory sealed and collectible (or resellable) condition.
