Small quarto, xxiii, 199 pages, finely bound in full green crushed morocco, signed by the binder "Bound by Riviere & Son" on the inside of the top board. Rasied bands, gilt lettering and floral decoration to spine. Inside gilt dentelles, fore edges of boards ruled in gilt. Top edge gilt. Marbled endpapers. Some signs of rubbing and wear, else in very good condition. Abel E. Berland (1915–2010) was a distinguished American book collector renowned for his meticulously curated collection of rare books, manuscripts, and early printed works. With a particular focus on English and American literature, Berland's collection spanned centuries, featuring significant first editions from authors such as William Shakespeare, Geoffrey Chaucer, and Charles Dickens.
