Description: Spectacular 110+ year old folk art masterpiece. So called, "memory" art. These whimsical types of collages were popular during the early 20th century, and this is one of the finest examples I've had. The design itself is well executed and carefully laid out - as opposed to more commonly seen abstract arrangements. The variety and quality of the buttons and baubles is quite exceptional. Agate and other stones, including pietra dura (inlaid stone). Cameos, intaglios and cut glass. Painted porcelain portrait surrounded by glass hearts. All attached to a tin pan.
