Description: Sometimes prices go down, but never until we have a fair amount of watchers, so please watch if interested but not ready to buy.___________________________________________________ ITEM- 1920-1930's French Dollhouse Miniature Painting of Composer Ludwig Von Beethoven signed HIL DESCRIPTION- Beautifully hand painted young lady likely painted on ivorine in a brass frame with a nice old patina. These usually aren't signed or the signature is illegible but this one points to one of the greatest mysteries of our time, who in the world is the painter who signs their work HIL. Hundreds, perhaps thousands of vintage paintings exist by this artist in varying sizes from tiny to miniature to large & no one online (perhaps on earth) seems to have any idea who this artist was. I've researched untold hours. If you know, let the rest of the collecting world know please. This frame has no hanging hoop in back & never did, but it can be hung with sticky tack instead or by one of those small self-adhesive loops added. Frame measures 2 & 11/16" tall X 2 & 1/4" wide. Unfortunately, I fell on a hike & fractured my left wrist & broke a small bone off & I can barely type, so my descriptions will be much shorter until healed except for what I can copy & paste or already had saved. It's sad because I really like describing these great items & their talented makers, but the pain is just too much.
