Description: 1930s Original Poster « Bicyclettes La Française Diamant » Lithographic poster printed by Société Nouvelle Affiches Gaillard Paris, Amiens Artist: Raoul Vion Dated: c.1930 Size: 47 x 30 ¼ inches (120 x 77 cm) La Française Diamant was a French company that made bicycles, mopeds, and motorcycles. Established in 1912, they sponsored the cycling team “La Française” that participated in numerous Tours de France before the First World War. In the 1920s, their offices and stores were on Descombes street in Paris and their factories were at Pantin. The brand was purchased by Alcyon in 1923. Raoul Vion was a French illustrator, caricaturist, and poster designer who exhibited in Paris’s Salon des humoristes (which showcased illustrators and caricaturists) in 1930, 1931, and 1933. This poster is linen backed and in very good condition. This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction.
