Description: Excellent vintage condition. Minimal fine surface scratches or other signs of wear. Rhodium plating is lush and bright. Ribbed sapphire blue glass pieces are in excellent condition. All stones are original and intact. There is some yellowing of gem adhesive over the stones. While normally we like to replace yellowed stones with better vintage stones, this brooch is too special to compromise its integrity since original pieces are intact. For its age, it is truly in excellent condition. Clasp works well and is secure. Piece is signed TRIFARI with a crown over the T. It is also marked DES. PAT. NO. 153,552. This corresponds to the Pom Pom doll, as noted in Carla & Roberto Brunialiti's "American Costume Jewelry, Art & Industry, 1935-1950, N-Z, at page 133. NOTE: This patent number is also listed for the male rag doll brooch, and Pom Pom and Tom Tom are often misgendered in reference books and listings. A wonderful, must-have addition for the Trifari collector. Carefully packaged and shipped in a jewelry gift box.
