Closes with side metal zipper. This does perplex me a little. You mostly see side metal zippers in the 40s and just a little into the 50s. But, it is not out of the realm of possibility that the manufacturer used a side metal zipper in the late 50s/early 60s. Fabric is a smooth and sleek nylon. Medium- light weight. This dress is unlined. ConditionNo stains, holes, or tears. it has been previously washed and worn, so it shows gentle signs of wear. It does not have a belt. The under arms are clean. The original pleats are still crisp. It has its original hem and I do not see any signs of alterations. What Diane Likes About This Dress This dress is a bit of a cusper. The 1950s and the first half of the 1960s were very similar. This dress has 50s design, with 60s fabric. I like the technology advancement of nylon. It is cool and crisp. It keeps it colors bright through wash and wear. I like the soft watercolor blue and green color combination. The flowers are a energetic and gestural kind of drawing that give a nod to the abstract movement. Not every dress has to be a showstopper.
