The 1978 Detroit Tigers were led by Hall-of-Famers Alan Trammell and Jack Morris, along with Lou Whitaker, Lance Parrish, Jason Thompson, Steve Kemp, Ron LeFlore, Aurelio Rodriguez, Rusty Staub, Milt May, Tim Corcoran, Milt Wilcox, Jim Slaton, Mark Fidrych, John Hiller and Aurelio Lopez. The Tigers went 86-76 in 1978, finishing 5th in the AL East. They were managed by Ralph Houk. Ron LeFlore led the Tigers in Batting at .297 and Stolen Bases with 68, which was tops in the AL. Jason Thompson led the team in Home Runs with 26 and RBI with 96. Jim Slaton led Tiger pitchers in Wins with 17. Milt Wilcox was the team leader in Strikeouts with 132, while John Hiller was the team leader in ERA at 2.34. The condition of this yearbook is EX. The front cover has nice color and gloss, with light wear. The back cover has nice color, with light wear. The spine is strong. The insides are clean. The yearbook is complete and intact.
