This type of air ventilator sucks air out of your vehicle - it does not blow air into it. Overall Dimensions : 285mm long x 185mm wide x 50mm high This is a highly economical type of air extraction type roof ventilator. It is made of durable PVC white plastic to not rust and to reflect heat. It is very low profile so it will fit under many types of roof-racks. It is a stylish teardrop shape to look good on any roof. It is designed to always be waterproof so you never have to remember to open/close it when it rains, like some other roof vents. This air vent has a flow-through air design. When the vehicle starts moving the air flows through the inlet at the front of the air vent and then exits out the back of the air vent. As it does this it creates a vaccuum that draws stale air from the inside of your vehicle. If it is raining, the water cannot enter into vehicle as this air vent is designed to direct water out the back of the air vent (instead of into your vehicle). Even when the vehicle it is parked it will be ventilating a little from natural wind blowing through it too. Remember, with this type of ventilator, the faster you drive the faster the air will be drawn out of the vehicle. Which often makes purchasing this type of air vent sufficient - rather than investing in more expensive type of ventilators that require opening/closing. Installation is simple by first cutting a 120mm diameter hole in your roof (if requiring maximum ventillation). If you want less ventilation, then only drill a few 10mm to 25mm holes (within the 120mm diameter area) in your roof first instead. You can always drill bigger or more holes later for more ventilation. To mount to your roof you only need to drill 4 x 4.5mm holes. Use pop rivets or short bolts with washers behind them if mounting to thin metal or plastic. Note: as this air vent is designed to deflect water or rain from entering through the air vent; but you should seal the base of the air vent with silicone or sika-flex before installing on the vehicle Installation instructions… 1. Cut a 120mm diameter hole in your roof (or several smaller holes within 100mm circle) 2. Position the air vent opening (underneath the air vent) over the 120mm hole and drill the 4 mounting holes 3. Seal the base with silicone or sika-flex and pop-rivet or bolt it on top (use large diameter washers behind the rivets or bolts if your roof is very thin for added strength) Note: the wider end with the largest open cut away face, as in main picture, faces forward to scoop air through the vent.The air then exits out the back - and as it is doing so - it sucks air out of the vehicle.
