Description: ITEM DESCRIPTION: 23 Volumes of The Works of Charles Dickens. (+ 3 more, see below) James R. Osgood & Company, Boston, Mass. 1875 Library Edition Beautifully illustrated with engravings by Charles Cruikshank and H.K. Browne. Bound in leather and marbled boards with gold gilt. The edges of the pages are marbled on all three sides. Each book measures 7-3/8" x 5-1/4" This set was originally received as a Christmas gift and the recipient's name has been beautifully handwritten with the date of Dec 25th 1879. This is on one of the first loose pages in every book. All of the books have some level of wear. Overall, the condition is very good. The covers and spines have some handling rub. The corners have some bumping Upon look through, only a few loose pages were found. Some darkening of the pages around the edges. Some transfer on the tissue protecting the illustrations. 3 additional books from this series are being included. They are in the last picture shown. They didn't have the same condition level as the other books, so were not considered in the pricing of the books. Two have their covers detached, and one has no cover at all.
