Description: This is a lovely antique set of 3 porcelain bowl made in Limoges France by William Guerin & Co.. They are about 9 inches in diameter and weigh about 8 ounces each. The green backstamp under the glaze is Wm Guerin & Co Limoges France, which was used from 1900-1932 according to theoldstuff.com . The pale blue decorator mark on top the of the glaze shows the same company decorated these lovely bowls. These bowls are beautiful shape, fairly shallow, probably meant as soup bowls. They hold 1 cup in the well of the bowl area up to where the flared rim starts. They hold 2 cups about halfway up the gold decorated rim. The are 9 inches hes across, stand 1 & 1/2 inches tall and each weigh about 14.5 ounces. The design is so delicate and elegant with wavy slight scallops on the edge which is decorated with a beautiful and electorate gold, what I call lace. Because it is on the edge of the bowls, there is not much wear to it, and it still is very shiny. The plates are are in excellent antique shape and I see no cracks, stains or crazing. There is a very small chip to the glaze near the edge of the underside of one of the bowls, that can be be seen in the last 2 pictures, with an arrow pointing to it because it is very hard to see. There are none to very few faint utensil marks in the glaze when looking at an angle to the light. There is a little bit of rub wear to gold on the edges I can see in a bright light, but not much wear on the design itself. One bowl has 2 specks of ash in the glaze from firing. And that same bowl also has smudge in the porcelain that is covered by the gold lace design. It could be an artisan held it there and left his mark! What a beautiful and rare set, from Limoges France! And in such excellent condition. These have been well taken care of and being the forever classic gold on white, would coordinate with most designs and celebrations, from Thanksgiving to Christmas or New Years and birthdays or anniversaries (Ok, maybe not Halloween)! Please zoom in on the pictures and see the 360 degree view for a closer look. I pack with lots of bubble wrap for safe shipping and ship out quickly, sometimes same day, always by next business day, and sometimes on Saturdays if I can make it to the post office before they close at noon. Any questions, please ask, and thanks for looking!!
