Description: Step back in time with this trio of stunning and rare, 1951 Japanese menko cards featuring Hall of Famers Kaoru Betto & Fumio Fujimura & another of popular catcher Takeshi Doigaki. These vintage baseball cards are from the JCM 83: c. 1951 Hiya Pharmaceuticals set. Betto was an outfielder for the Osaka Tigers (1948-49) & Mainichi Orions (1950-57), & in 1950 won the Pacific League MVP, the Japan Series & Japan Series MVP. Elected to the HOF in 1988. Fujimura was a pitcher & infielder for 22 seasons (1936-58) for the Osaka/Hanshin Tigers. Was MVP in 1949. Elected to the HOF in 1974. Doigaki was a popular catcher winning several Best of Nines during his years (1940-57). Approx 2.75" x 1.5" these vintage baseball cards showcase the iconic style of Japanese menko cards, with colorful illustrations & beautiful design on both sides. Menko, a game similar to Pogs, was played roughly, making surviving cards in good condition rare. Refer to the pictures for card condition.
