Description: A vintage hand-knotted Tulu (thick-piled) rug from Konya in Central Turkey. The rug is made of hand-spun lamb’s wool, is very soft and feels comfortable under your feet. It features an overall lozenge pattern in a lively, energetic, eye-catching color palette of moss green, hot pink, violet, orange, turquoise, navy, black and tomato red. These simple yet charming small rugs with lustrous wool pile were produced for daily use by nomads and villagers in Konya region of Central Anatolia until the 1970s. Today they are considered collectible. As well as being highly decorative floor coverings, each of them is one-of-a-kind and represents a diminishing form of textile and tribal art. Custom options available.
