Deterioration of the three torque pins inside the gear is usually what causes the gear to slip on the drive shaft. Don't waste your money on a new nylon gear (that may be inferior to OEM) if you do not need it. This kit includes 3 new lifetime warranty Delrin torque pins. These torque pins are the best you can buy because they are precision machined +/- .001" for even torque spread around the entire gear. These pins will not deteriorate and break up over time like the OEM pins. Most power window motors fail because of the OEM torque pins failing and turning into ground up bits inside the gear. This causes the gear to slip on the drive shaft. For a kit with the correct OEM grease for the gear please see my other listings. *Beware cheap hand made replacement torque pins which are incorrectly or inconsistently sized. These are most often the reason for damaged, cracked, or broken gears. They should fit snug inside the gear with no slop but not so tight that you must force the gear assembly together. **Beware the OEM style gel torque pins which are designed (in my opinion) to have a lifespan just like the OEM gel pins meaning they are designed to deteriorate and fail over time. I have also seen many of the replacement hollow nylon torque pins that will also eventually break up and fail. ***Beware pins made out of aluminum. Ford made them out of plastic for a reason.
