Description: Authentic Indus Valley female figure fragment. This amazing artifact dates back to roughly 2600-2000 BC, it’s over 4,000 years old. Comes beautifully displayed in a museum style frame. Frame has a holographic serial numbered label that seals the frame and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity with matching serial number. ( we have a few so each one purchase will be different ) This figure is made out of a tan clay pottery. It would have been molded/sculpted by hand into the rough shape of a anthropomorphic female. Note that this is just a fragment, but does include the upper portion (head). The bottom portion has been lost to time. Being from the Indus Valley, this piece was found in modern day Pakastan, or far Western India. This piece would have likely once been painted, however after being buried for thousands of years, it is substantially worn. This piece has the following provenance: Purchased from a private collection of Near Eastern Antiquities out of Sonoita, Arizona, USA. The previous owner had it in his collection for a decades. He purchased it from a reputable Near Eastern Antiquities dealer in Tuscan, Arizona. It is guaranteed to be ethically acquired. Digs in this area of the world became popular in the 1920’s or so, so it is likely that it was excavated in that time. This incredible piece and would make a perfect addition to any collection and is guaranteed authentic.
