Description: 5 Fresh Cuttings (unrooted) Hydrangea Flowering Shrubs Planting Zones: 5~9 Take the cuttings and dip the lower ends of the cuttings in a rooting hormone. Fill a small pot or tray with a high quality potting soil that is made with perlite and peat moss. Dig a hole with your finger or with a pencil in the center of the pot. Put the lower 5 or 8 inches of the cutting into the hole and then fill in the hole with potting soil. Water the soil and let the water drain from the soil. The soil should be kept moist but not wet so when it is watered, the water must be allowed to drain from the base of the pot. Put several sticks around the cutting and put a plastic bag on the twigs so that the cutting is in a plastic bag. This keeps the humidity high for the cutting, which is necessary for the cuttings to form roots. They should form roots in 6~10 weeks. Gently pull on the cutting and if there is resistance, then it has formed roots. Take off the plastic bag and put the pot in a sunny area of your house or outdoors in warm weather and keep the soil moist. The cuttings will be ready to transplant to an outdoor location in 1 year. Please follow instructions in this video to root these cuttings: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVXBptgCwFw&t=21s Please see all of my seed listings here.
