Description: Admiral Arleigh ''31-knot Burke'' Burke [1901 1996] was a noted naval commander in the Pacific during World War II who was later appointed as the Chief of Naval Operations. Burke served an unprecedented three terms as Chief of Naval Operations and the Arleigh Burke-class destroyers are named in his honor. Listed for auction is a [TLS] typed letter signed by Admiral Arleigh Burke on the letterhead of the Chief of Naval Operations. The letter is a response to a collector and is signed ''Arleigh Burke'' in black felt pen. The letter measures 5.75 x 7.25 inches and is in fine condition. The letter is authentic and is a nice example of this prominent naval commander.
