Description: Up for sale is this rare antique 1884 copy of, "A New England Sleighing Frolic and other Poems." The book contains a collection of Francis More Adlington's poems which are grouped into the categories of: Hymns, Miscellaneous, Love and Kindred Subjects, Personal, Patriotic, Anti-Slavery, and Temperance. It also contains an introductory bio written by his daughter. The book is overall in good condition with some signs of wear and age. It is illustrated with a mounted photo frontispiece. The covers have some moderate soiling and wear with a little bit of white paint at the bottom of the spine and bottom board edges. There is some partial light cracking to the back interior hinge and a very small section of cracking towards the top of the front interior hinge; however, the binding of the book is still good and sound. All of the page edges are gold gilt. The interior is lightly toned from age but is mostly clean with just the very occasional page with a light bit of foxing, soiling, or grubbiness. Along with that there may be the very occasional page with some kind of other minor imperfection such as a tiny chip or tear, creased page corner, minor interior crack, etc. Generally though, it's a decent copy. The book measures approximately 8 1/4 inches by 6 inches and is 260 pages long. Please look at all of the photos to further note the condition.
