Description: This listing is for an antique necklace from Afghanistan. This necklace was made in the traditional style by the nomadic Kuchi people. The main portions are made from 500 silver and feature colorful glass and dangling coins The majority of the coins that are dangling are from Afghanistan and date to the 1930s, which is when we believe that the necklace was made This necklace is a testament to the sad history of contemporary Afghanistan. We believe that it was something that had been passed down by multiple generations of a family Some of the coin pendants appear to have been replaced over the years. The coins attached on the replacements are Pakistani from the 1970s and 1980s These later coins are a testament to the wars that occurred, forcing millions to flee into neighboring Pakistan. The necklace appears to be in overall good condition. 4 coins appear to have gone missing over the years, but they aren’t too noticeable. 2 glass “jewels” have also gone missing on the left section Measurements in photos Please see photos for details and feel free to message with any questions
