Description: Antique Carbon Filament Light Bulb (Works!!) Up for sale I have a beautiful antique carbon filament light bulb. The filament is most likely made of squirted cellulose. The bulb is in fantastic condition and works perfectly. I would not recommend trying to plug this into a standard 120v socket, as it may cause the bulb to blow. These old carbon filament bulbs were usually rated for 110 volts or less. I recommend using a variac transformer if you plan on lighting it. (If you are unfamiliar with this type of equipment, just Google Variac transformer, and you’ll see what I’m talking about.) There are remnants of the original paper label, but it has mostly been worn away by time and handling. Please note that I will package the bulb with the utmost care and will do my part to ensure safe delivery, by marking the package Fragile and double boxing for extra protection. However, I cannot control the parcel service, and thus cannot guarantee that the bulb will arrive in perfect condition. These bulbs are very old and are very fragile, especially the filaments.
