Description: This piece is a bit of an enigma. The portrait is 1840’s English and from the Provenance, this young woman married the grandson of James Butler, 1st Marquess of Ormonde (check out his Wikipedia page for his history). The frame is from a few decades later and French and the miniature isn't a perfect fit. Frame is in nice condition. Portrait appears to be too but has not been removed.
