Description: Up for auction is an antique wooden Lap writing box with a hand painted white rose on top. It does have the key (can't get it to lock). Dimensions 11.5 inches long, 4 inches tall and 8 inches wide. Inside is a lidded compartment and on the back of that lid there is handwriting in pencil. I'm sure it is someone's name but the only thing I can make out is a date: 1880. Beautiful condition for age!
