Description: ANTIQUE FRENCH LIQUEUR BOTTLE An antique (probably early 20th Century) French bottle with a pewter & cork stopper and stylised fish lid handle. It is an unusual shade of pale green-brown, like a pale olive green with a hint of amber. This would make a great display prop in a French style kitchen. The bottle has an applied plaque - Cerises a l'eau de vie; it would have held cherry liqueur or cherry brandy. Date: Circa early 20th Century. Condition. Fair condition. The glass is in good condition but the original cork stopper has shrunk a little and so is loose in the neck. The stopper has probably been dropped at some point and the fish handle is depressed into the stopper top. A retrospectively fitted chain has been added to the stopper to keep it with the bottle. Dimensions: Height: 27.5 cm (10-7/8") Diameter: 9 cm (3-1/2") Weight: 839 g Stock number: AC2180
