Description: Antique Pair of Jennings Bros Cobalt Blue and Brass 'Covered Chalice' Candy Dishes - Dimensions are ; 8" high overall , 4 1/4" diameter at the mouth , cobalt dish insert depth 3 1/4" , 3 1/4" base diameter . Manufactured by Jennings Bros. This pair of covered chalice candy dishes are wonderfully rendered objects. In three pieces we have the cup , the cobalt blue glass insert and the domed cover with all the metal parts lavishly decorated in foliage , fruit and somewhat intricate Baroque ornament. Produced by Jennings Bros , known for developing a method for producing ( by metal casting ) interesting and decorative gilded jewelry boxes for mass distribution. They actually created many different pieces for the home market and had a very successful company. These 'chalice' like pieces work wonderfully as a pair in any decor or location. We have priced them very reasonably.
