Description: I think the binding is leather but I do not know; there is a metal running around the edge that's maybe brass. There was a latch to clasp the front and back covers that is missing. There is gilt on some of the embossed things like the crucifix that is a bit faded and the edges of the pages are gilt, mostly intact. The text is larger than typical, which is why the book is thicker than usual. It's mostly in English with some sections in Latin with English on facing pages. The binding is pretty tight and I don't think there are any missing pages. Owner names in the front and back in neat, antique script, but no other writing I noticed but I did not check every page.
