This Bible design won "First Premium" for "elegantly-bound and illustrated Family Bibles" at the 1876 U. S. Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia, as well as a First Premium Silver Medal in the same category at the 1874 Cincinnati Industrial Exhibition. The book's actual title is "The Holy Bible: Containing the Old and New Testaments, Translated Out of the Original Tongues, with Cruden's Complete Concordance, Embracing Every Passage of Scripture in the Largest Editions." It was published in Rockford, Illinois. This particular Bible belonged to the family of John Robert & Adelia (Carbrey) Conn of McHenry County, Illinois. There is one CDV of a child (one of their older children, most likely) in the Bible, as well as one page of genealogical information. The Bible is extremely large, and weighs nearly 12 pounds.
