Description: Bombay, India to USA cover Airmail 3 stamps: 8, 1, 1/2 Annas cancelled 1937 I am going through some of my late grandfather's possessions, and he has some interesting postage stamps and envelopes. Grandpa lived in Ft. Madison, Iowa, where Sheaffer Pen Company was and still is headquartered. At the time, fine pens like theirs were often sold in jewelry stores, so Grandpa has envelopes from lots of jewelers and fancy pen stores around the world that must have once held payments or orders. This posted envelope was slit at the top and right side with a letter opener to remove contents. Air Mail envelope is from Brough & Philpott Ltd. in Bombay to the W.A. Sheaffer Pen Company in Fort Madison, Iowa. Normal handling wear. All 3 stamps: 8 Annas, 1 Anna and 1/2 Anna, are clear and in nice condition. There is a blue Airmail sticker just under the return address, and a smear of some red ink near that. Postmarked 3 May 1937 in Bombay (now Mumbai), India. I will ship as soon as I receive payment.
