DESCRIPTION: For sale is this very nice and well used, early 20th century American vintage Clayton and Lambert Company of Detroit, Michigan signed and dated 1921, brass and cast iron light industrial and manufacturing blow torch, with cast iron upper torch assembly, finger turn flame adjustment wheel, brass body and brass wheel turn. The cast iron upper torch assembly has a perforated, reticulated nozzle. The lower brass body exhibits signs of not only being previously used but used often and apparently as an everyday tool, used by a steam or pipefitter, residential or commercial plumber. The attached rear handle appears to be either missing or was previously purposely removed, to allow the torch to reach especially hard-to-reach areas in need of soldering. The brass body has some minor to moderate scuffs, abrasions, shallow dings and dents. The cast iron upper torch assembly isn't deformed and appears complete. The torch is signed with a maker's stamped brass shield affixed to its front and dated 1921. Close to, if not, 100 years old. A wonderful early 20th century American vintage early industrial artifact. CONDITION: Fair to Good overall vintage condition.
