Hutschenreuther of Hohenberg, Bavaria. It has Etruscan Lekythos shape. It is decorated with expressive décor of tree branch with green and yellowish leafs. Vase has gold rim. Its background is blank white. Very famous German designer Egon Grießhammer (b. 1916) created this vase. He started as porcelain painter for Schönwald before WWII. After war he worked for Heinrich (H&C Bavaria), then was a freelance and worked for Porzellanfabrik Schumann in 1950s until he was appointed as a head of Art Department of C. M. Hutschenreuther, Hohenberg in 1957. He created numerous designs for Echt Kobalt and other lines. Later he again worked for Heinrich and delivered a series of remarkable designs for the Gemmo Porzellan. Vase on this auction is marked on the backside with standard green production mark used during 1948 - 1970. We believe this is production of 1950s. There is also CM Hutschenreuther form number 116/23 incised on the backside as well as décor numbers C 44, C 5, F 11. Vase measures about 3” in its widest diameter and stands 9 ¼” tall. Condition is immaculate with no cracks or chips found. Colors are bright and vibrant. Gold has no wear. Please take a look at he pictures to find out more about this item. Payment: PayPal.
