Description: Beautiful Zeiss Ikon Contax IIIa Color / Red Dial 35mm Rangefinder Camera for 35mm film. Made in Germany. ca, 1954. Mounted with a Carl Zeiss Sonnar 50mm f1.5 lens. This was Zeiss Ikon's answer to the Leica M cameras of the period, M2, M3. As a color dial this camera is later and can be used with modern flash sync. There's a PC receptacle on the back of the camera. Comes with take up spool. •Beautiful Condition. Very clean cosmetically with SS# of previous owner on base plate. No Zeiss bumps. Shutter works and sounds accurate at all speeds. Rangefinder is clear. Focus patch is bright and aligned. Focus is smooth. Lens is coated so good for both black & white and color. Glass is very clean except for separation in front group. Straight on the glass looks clear. My experience with this type of separation is the lens will shoot fine but but produce flair when shot into a light source. Some some artists and photographers like this. Otherwise, there's no haze or fungus and only very slight cleaning marks. The meter doesn't work. This camera will make nice pictures. •If you are a “0” feedback bidder, please contact me prior to bidding as I will cancel all “0” feedback bids due to scams. No Reserve.
