Description: Up for listing: custom brass clicky switch assy (sleeve with switch installed) for use with Pelican M1(3310)/M1(2310[MY2006])/M3(3370)/M6(2320/2330/2390) tailcap hosts (dubbed "Type B" assy) Compatible with batches manufactured before and after 2014 (both S- and T-prefixed tailcap hosts) Also compatible with Pentagonlights clicky tailcap assy (TC2/TC4) Inspired by original Lumens Factory Seraph aluminum sleeve design Patented clicky switch preinstalled and retested Low in stock -- may be discontinued once sold out Highlights and features: - Sleeve designed for custom patented clicky switch mecha only (McClicky NOT compatible) - Custom clicky switch produced by reputable Hong Kong company, fully patented, rates up to 3A, and has been utilized by various OEM manufacturers for years (ie. fully time-tested design) - Supplants stock mechanical clicky switch mecha for a more robust and reliable clicky switch operation (for models equipped with stock silent clicky tailcap). User serviceability via use of commercially available clicky which allows for easy replacement (stock clicky mecha CANNOT be replaced once defective) - Retains similar amount of tailcap threads (as compared with stock spec) for latching (screwing) into body's tail threads; only slight decrease in body/tail gap length (less than 3mm total) - Adjustable switch height (inside sleeve) for adjusting switch actuation feel - Sleeve height (overall) ~17mm; outer thread height ~5.5mm - Supports switch lockout function (only if tailcap host is reanodized inside-out with internal threads fully covered, at customer's expense) Disassembly/reassembly instructions for instructions for pre-2014 tailcap with "S"-prefixed serial (NOTE: some advanced skills required for chassis disassembly): 1. Using needle nose pliers, unscrew black plastic receiver and remove contents (contact spring + pin, main clicky mecha with soldered PCB); 2. Moist, soak, and clean threads and affected areas with industrial-grade solvent (pref. acetone-based) and superglue debonder to weaken/dissolve glue, wait 1-5 hours, then use cotton swabs, brush, and/or pick/hook to carefully scrape out residue. (NOTE: overnight soaking may be required to effectively remove all glue gunk); 3. Once tailcap host is dry (no wet solvent) and threads are free of aforementioned glue residue, wiggle and spin out brass disc by wedging center hole with finger or flat nose pliers with reverse-taped (ie. adhesive facing outside) tips. Brass disc itself should be only weakly (or even not) threadlocked, is ~2mm thick, and can be effectively removed using the nose plier method; 4. (Optional) Carefully drill two small torque holes on brass disc to assist removal/reinstallation using needle nose pliers. If (3) fails then drilling will have to be carried out within tailcap host to initiate disc removal. If so, do it carefully to avoid over-drilling resulting in underside component damage; 5. Remove remaining components: spring, aluminum (or plastic) plunger piece, inner aluminum collar ring (use aforementioned flat nose plier method to assist removal), switch boot 6. Reclean and relubricate tail host's inside threads. Reinstall switch boot and aforementioned aluminum collar ring; 7. Using needle nose pliers, screw assembled clicky switch module into tail host till snug Disassembly/reassembly instructions for post-2014 (or "T"-prefixed serial) tailcap: 1. Using needle nose pliers, unscrew black plastic receiver and remove first layer of components (contact spring + pin, main clicky mecha), then unscrew inner retainer ring and remove the second layer of components (spring, metal plunger piece, switch boot); 2. Clean and relubricate tail host's inside threads. Keep internal collar area (as part of tailcap host's integrated machining) clean and dry; 3. Reinstall switch boot. Make sure the entire outer flange snaps into the groove above tailcap's collared area; 4. Using needle nose pliers, screw assembled clicky switch housing into tail host till snug Disassembly/reassembly instructions for Pentagonlights clicky tailcap (original iteration): - Same as Pelican S-serial clicky disassembly, except (4) below Disassembly/reassembly instructions for Pentagonlights clicky tailcap (Revisions 1 and 2 with newer switch internals): 1. Using needle nose pliers, unscrew lower brass housing (with integrated contact spring). NOTE: Additional effort is required if such part has been secured with red threadlock glue; 2. Once aforementioned brass housing has been removed, identify the actual clicky switch module with additional black plastic housing and upper spring. Note the two holes on bottom of the PCB and remove entire module with needle nose pliers; 3. Remove remaining components (eg. switch boot); 4. Thoroughly reclean and relubricate tail host's internal threads. Install replacement switch boot (stock boot CANNOT be used) and brass collar ring (see below); 5. Using needle nose pliers, screw assembled clicky switch module into tail host till snug Tailcap host compatibility: - M6/M3/M1 clicky tailcap hosts manufactured before 2014 (especially those with "S"-prefixed serial numbers) which feature full internal threads. Requires stock aluminum collar ring (from original clicky switch chassis components) for effective installation and proper boot seating; - Post-2014 tailcap host (esp. those with embossed battery position indicator) or tailcap host with "T"-prefixed serial; - Pentagonlights clicky tailcap host TC2/TC4 (original iteration as well as Revisions 1 and 2 variants). (NOTE: Must use replacement switch boot which will reduce switch plunger height profile); - May NOT be compatible with some native LED models esp. those with frontal red flush switch and flat tailcap without switch mechanism; 4. NOT recommend for upgrading early-spec M6 twisty tailcap due to lack of fully compatible aluminum collar ring necessary to secure/seat switch boot properly. Use the Type A switch assy instead NOTES on choosing switch sleeve type: - Please check your existing tailcap specs (S- or T-serial) beforehand to determine the correct switch sleeve version (Type A or B) required for the intended tailcap host. If in doubt, disassemble the tailcap chassis to double-check, and contact the seller for verification - If you are to upgrade a stock (S-serial) clicky tailcap, you may be advised to consider this Type-B switch assy instead of the Type-A assy, in case of the latter's limited availability which needs to be reserved for customers who need to upgrade a stock twisty tailcap - Likewise, per the aforementioned, you may be advised to consider the Type-A assy instead of this Type-B variant, in the event the latter runs low in stock (which needs to be reserved for customers upgrading the T-chassis tailcap) - When the aforementioned situations occur, you will be notified of the situation via PM after your order (for Type-A or Type-B switch assy) has been placed - If you are to upgrade a stock (T-serial) clicky tailcap, your MUST choose this Type-B switch assy - Order the Type A assy for your pre-2014 ("S"-prefixed serial) clicky tailcap if you've lost (or lost access to) the aluminum collar ring from the stock clicky internal components. Using the Type B switch assy in an S-serial tailcap host without the said ring may result in problems with the fitment/alignment of the switch boot inside the tailcap chassis - If you are to order this Type-B switch assy for the twisty tailcap upgrade, please PM and ask for the optional brass collar ring (required for properly securing/seating switch boot, prior to actual switch chassis install) - If you are to order this Type-B switch assy for Pentagonlight's clicky tailcap upgrade (specifically, Revisions 1 and 2 variants), please PM and ask for the optional brass collar ring (required for properly securing/seating switch boot, prior to actual switch chassis install) What you get from this sale is - ONE said switch housing with new bare clicky installed - ONE replacement silicone switch boot (Colors may vary) - ONE boot centering o-ring (installed on switch sleeve) NO other accessories, flashlight components etc. included Listing pictures for reference only All units tested for operability and will be retested prior to shipping NOTES on Shipping: - Only registered international shipping provided (NO lower-tier shipping options available) - Standard registered airmail may be upgraded to e-Express service, or downgraded to Surface Registered Mail (where and when applicable or deemed necessary) - Final shipping method varies according to region (subject to change depending on current postal logistics situations during pandemic outbreak/post-pandemic era) - Orders CANNOT be shipped to certain destinations where ALL postal services are still being suspended during the post-pandemic era - Customers are advised to refer to the following links for more details and updates https://www.hongkongpost.hk/en/about_us/whats_new/notices/index.html https://www.hongkongpost.hk/en/about_us/whats_new/press_release/index.html https://www.hongkongpost.hk/en/about_us/whats_new/service_delay_suspension/index.html Seller reserves all rights to refuse and cancel orders according to the aforementioned notices as issued by the local PO service Please send PM for any questions.
