This is a limited edition Disneyland Tomorrowland Skyway box designed by Kevin Kidney with a Mickey Mouse figurine included. The box was released in 2005 to commemorate the 50th Anniversary Celebration of Disneyland. It features a colorful design and is made in China with high-quality materials. This item is perfect for Disneyana collectors and fans of Mickey Mouse and the Disneyland theme park. The box comes with a COA and original packaging. Here's a little about the piece taken from the Certificate of Authenticity: Mickey ushers the way to the wide blue yonder on Disneyland's Skyway. The first attraction of its kind in the world, Skyway opened on June 23, 1956. High above Disneyland, the Skyway gondolas carried guests through the towering Matterhorn to the wonders of Tomorrowland. Sailing through the air, travelers young and old marveled at the sights and sounds of Disneyland bustling below, and at night they could almost touch the stars. Skyway closed on November 9, 1994, but if you listen closely you just might hear laughter echoing in the skies it used to sail. Sculpted exclusively for the Walt Disney Gallery by Kevin Kidney, this Classic Disneyland collectible box is exquisitely hand-crafted and hand-painted. Created with painstaking attention to detail and meticulously crafted, it recreates the look of a Skyway gondola, and the happy usher is quite familiar, too. Like a memory you can hold forever, it carries on back to the time when Skyway sailed the happiest skies on earth. The figure is 6"x 3.5" x 3.5" and was expertly sculpted by Disney artist Kevin Kidney. It comes with its original box and a Certificate of Authenticity. This sculpture was displayed for a short period of time, and then packaged up in its box and stored in a closet with other Disney collectibles. It is in excellent condition and would make a great addition to anyone's Disneyland collection. The box the piece comes in has some wear and tear on the outside (see pic), but is in overall good condition. About the artist: Kevin Kidney‏‎ is an art director, writer, and visual artist. He used to work as a skipper on the Jungle Cruise and also contributed mise en scene to attractions such as Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar. The artistic duo of Kevin Kidney and Jody Daily are well known to Disney fans as creators of collectible merchandise and entertainment for Disney Parks around the world. The two got their start nearly 30 years ago in Disneyland’s legendary Entertainment-Art Department and have brought to life many of Disney’s most beloved shows and parades — including Disneyland’s original “Fantasmic!”, “Mickey’s Soundsational Parade”, “Pixar Play”, Tokyo Disneyland’s “Happiness is Here”, and the brand new “Disney Stars on Parade” at Disneyland Paris.
