Dr. Strangelove Stunning Large French Poster Circa Late 70s-1980

Description: Up for sale in this listing is an original, French Grande poster promoting the rerelease of the 1964 Stanley Kubrick black comedy classic, “Dr. Strangelove” (aka “Dr. Folamour”) starring Peter Sellers, George C Scott, Sterling Hayden, and James Earl Jones, directed by Stanley Kubrick and co-written by Kubrick, Terry Southern and Peter George. This gorgeous poster measures approximately 45.5” x 60.5”. I am aware that, officially, the dimensions of French Grande posters are generally 47” x 63.” Perhaps my tape measure is defective, or I’m doing something wrong with my measurements, but this poster appears to be fully intact l, has what appears to be a full border and doesn’t appear to have been trimmed in any way, so I’m chalking the small difference up to this simply being the way this reissue grande poster was originally designed and issued. Also, I don’t know the precise details regarding when it was issued, but I’ve seen others list identical copies as originating either in the late 1970s, or perhaps 1980. I acquired it sometime around the mid 1980s, so it has to be at least close to 40 years old, and likely, a little older than that. Overall, the poster is in remarkably nice condition. What relatively minor flaws or imperfections I detected while preparing this listing were mostly in the form of pinholes, small tears and rumpling along the corners, plus some minor tearing along some of the fold lines/creases. I’ve noted these imperfections in the photos I’ve posted. Please examine them carefully so you’ll know what you’re getting. The poster has resided folded in my temperate, smoke-free home since I purchased it in the 1980s, and the paper is in very nice condition, while the printing/colors remain vibrant.
