Description: Fredric Michael "Fred" Lynn He is best known for being the first player to win the Rookie of the Year award and MVP in the same season for the Boston Red Sox. Lynn was inducted into the Boston Red Sox Hall of Fame in 2002 and the College Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007. Lynn was a nine-time All-Star overall in his career. He hit a home run in three All-Star games for the Red Sox, in 1976, 1979, and 1980 and hit the only grand slam in All-Star history in 1983.
