Description: Greater Poems Of Virgil_Antique Hardcover_1895_Ginn & Co_Roman Poet_Good Published in 1895 by Ginn & Co, this 7-1/2" x 5" green cloth-bound volume is in very good condition for its age, blind-stamped title and decorative motif on front cover. The head / foot of the spine is fading. Book has school district stamp inside front cover, no other writing or marks inside, text-block solid, hinges tight (reinforced with white archival cloth tape), cover corners lightly bumped and worn. Wonderful full-color frontispiece plate, 2-page color map 'Voyage of Aeneas', many B&W illustrations and photos. I found a 2' x 3/4" piece torn off the edge on page 104, minimal impact to the text. Please see pics for condition details. The actual Aeneid poem runs 185 pages, then pages 190 - 409 are the Notes, followed by a Special Vocabulary section of another 305 pages. There are light pencil ticks, 'x's, etc on some of the pages. I can see where this book would be indispensable for any serious Latin student.A very solid copy of a 125-year old book that will be well-packaged and promptly shipped with USPS Media Mail.
