Description: Four images of this 103-year-old, sweet, generously-illustrated book are shown below. It is: Greetings and a Message Dear Children, by Augusta E. Stetson, Published by G. P. Putnam's Sons, 1921, first edition. This book measures 10 1/4" x 9 1/4" and is 33 pages and in Very Good condition with some edgewear to the binding and with some gentle overall wear. There are nine color illustrations of varying size. Seven are by Isabel L. Whitney; the other two are a full-page colorized print and a full-page colorized photograph. The color decoration on the boards is not repeated within the book; the endpapers are fully-decorated with lullaby music. The text is very oriented towards the Christian Science approach of Mary Baker Eddy. There is a page of quotes by her (i.e., please see image #4 below) and also a brief poem by her. Stetson's text refers to Eddy and Christian Science throughout. There is no former-owner's bookplate inside, no writing inside, no foxing, and there are no loose pages.
