Hardy Silex Major 2 7/8ths Casting Reel c. 1925-27

Description: A Hardy Silex Major Casting Reel in the rare size 2 7/8ths diameter. Stamped R.M.S denoting that the reel was made by Robert Marshall Scott who worked at Hardy between 1916 and 1967 (Source: John Drewett Hardy Brothers - The Masters, The Men and Their Reels 1873-1939). The reel has several features that date it to 1925-1927, in particular the design of the regulator knob which was only produced in this form during this period. The reel has all of its original features including the auxilliary rim brake, the ventilated pool and exquisite ebonite handles. It has been well kept and is in full working order. Would make a very good addition to any collection of Hardy reels. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask, I can always supply further photos upon request as attachments to any reply.
