Description: Big Tiffin/Hawkes Connemara glass, unused with original tag . 7 3/8 inches high and 3 5/8 inches across the top. Bowl height is about 4 inches . No chips, cracks, clouding, or dishwasher damage. The second photo is the original artist’s design for the glass; you might be able to make out what you’re looking for more easily if you look at that, rather than at my amateur photographs. But this is definitely the right pattern to go with the illustration. Here’s some information I picked up from Hawkes’ own history page. If you can figure out what it means, bless you: “…Tiffin began a partnership with T.G. Hawkes & Co. in the 1930's. The Company chose the Tiffin Glass Factory (known for its exceptional quality lead crystal) to produce all blanks for Hawkes stemware and other designs.” So somewhere in that paragraph I find the explanation for this Tiffin glass having a Hawkes crystal sticker on it. At some point in history, they were essentially the same manufacturer. Tiffin is now out of business, but Hawkes lives on.
