Description: HO Brass Union Pacific FEF-1 4-8-4 Custom Painted #813 with Light Weathering. Produced by Atlas/United Models of Japan for Pacific Fast Mail in 1976. ExcellentAs rail traffic ramped up in the years prior to World War II, the Union Pacific added more horsepower to its steam roster. The 20 locos of the FEF-1 class were delivered by Alco in 1937. Cab #813 remained in service until the end of steam on the UP in the late 1950’s. This classic Japanese brass model is well-detailed, and well-built. The professionally applied paint and weathering are first rate. The model has been stored idle for many years. It runs rather well, but will benefit from basic servicing. There is only mild wear on the driving wheels. The original box is in good condition, although the original packing foam has been replaced.
