The powerful motors use no gears, making them exceptionally smooth and quiet. On our 60' Gran Prix track, good lap times for Carrera cars are 4.5 seconds, "DD" cars are more than a second a lap faster! Because the motors have such powerful magnets, there is downforce from the motor itself. Our Magnet Marshal shows 90 Grams of magnetic downforce on a DD car, much less that the 280 grams than a stock Carrera car. These cars weigh 86 grams, a typical Carrera Cars weights about 130 grams. The steel chassis and very lightweight body give DD cars a very low center of gravity for excellent handling. Rear wheels have superlight hybrid aluminum/carbon set screw hubs with very grippy foam tires. Replacement rear tire/wheel sets are available. If the tires wear down too much, yellow tape on the chassis will show marks and prevent sparking of the steel against the rails. Front tires are ultra lightweight because the multi part chassis works best with no front tire contact. On these cars front wheels are typically represented by stickers on the body. Many bodies are available to fit these chassis both painted and clear. Body and cars prices vary depending on the level of detail and licensing. Because of the high speed and light weight of these cars, More aero dynamic bodies improve performance, especially on large tracks. So some bodies compromise scale appearance for aerodynamic downforce. Still the more detailed ones still resemble the real world cars. Every part of these cars is available separately by special order in the unlikely event you need a replacement. These cars can stand hard racing, but because the DD motors run hot, we recommend giving a minute or more of cool off time every 10 minutes so. We have had these cars slow down when too hot, but they have always recovered their full speed when they cool down. DD cara will run an any Carrera Analog (Evolution and Exclusiv) tracks Or with OmniSlotBox but they do "want" more current than standard Carrera opwer supplies put out so it is best to have a 3 Amps or more per lane. These cars reward a smooth driving technique. Brake early for the turns and accelerate early out of the turns for fastest lap times. This car is race ready and legal for CARS club racing series. Included are both narrow braid for use on Carrera track and large copper braid for use on tracks with recessed braid.
