The Lunar Series II coins (2008-2019) differed from the original coins with a larger diameter (45 mm vs. 40.6 mm) and updated animal designs. Due to the popularity of the series 1 and 2 coins, a third series was started in 2020 with the 2020 Year of the Mouse coin and continued with the 2021 Year of the Ox coin, the 2022 Year of the Tiger coin, the 2023 Year of the Rabbit coin, and the 2024 Year of the Dragon coin.
