The New Vision is “an amazing book in which Moholy-Nagy expands on his 1928 treatise on Modern Design. The essay was written when the old German Bauhaus was very much alive, and is a definitive analysis of the movement aimed at removing the discrepancy between’fine’ and ‘applied’ art, which has had such far -reaching consequences. The work has become a standard primer in understanding modern art in general. Abstract of an Artist, is an autobiographical exploration of Moholy-Nagy’ life and development as an artist.” Further contents include obituary note and preface, by Walter Gropius, a Moholy-Nagy chronology, bibliography of his books, and index. Cover design and typography by Paul Rand. See photos for Table of Contents. This volume is part of original owner’s estate library, and is in exceptionally good condition, Near Fine.
