Description: Original 1870 Letter Adultery Blow Your Horn Billy Smith Reconstruction WOW! Here is an Original 1870 Letter Adultery Blow Your Horn Billy Smith Reconstruction. Okay. I’ll try to explain what this interesting 7 3/4” by 9 1/2” letter is about. The letter is written from Washington D.C. by an F. Sparrow (?) to a doctor. Sparrow is looking for a man named “Snead”. He talked to former US Representative from North Carolina, “Blow Your Horn” Billy Smith (William Alexander Smith). Smith tells him that Snead is dead. He then met with an E.G. Hill, Sheriff of Johnston County. Hill tells him that Snead is not dead. A witness stated that Caroline Atkinson, a colored girl, bore Snead a child. Also, Jim Cox, a negro, now living at Rocky Mount, caught Snead in the act of adultery with his wife. This is quite an interesting letter. The ink is easily readable. The penmanship is difficult to read. It was folded at one time for mailing. Please see photos for condition. A wonderful addition to your collection.
