The image area measures 29.7 x 24 cm [11¾" x 9½"], and a grid delineates township and range lines, with outline color marking the border of the area open for settlement in the Oklahoma Land Rush of 1889. Details on the map include cattle trails, stage routes, railroads, springs, creeks, and rivers. Among the specific named places and features are Baker's Stage Station, Verbeck, Chisholm Cattle Trail, Indian Wigwam, Cimarron River, Darlington, Negro Settlement, Prairie Dog Town, Silver City, Abilene Cattle Trail, Oklahoma City, Kingfisher Stage Station, Norman, and the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad.
