Born Eileen Patricia Augusta Fraser Morison, she took acting classes at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York and studied dance with Martha Graham. She made her Broadway debut in the 1933 comedy "Growing Pains". She later appeared on the Broadway stage in both "Kiss Me, Kate" and "The King and I". She made her film debut in the 1939 crime feature "Persons in Hiding". She later appeared in such films as "Are Husbands Necessary?" (1942), "The Song of Bernadette" (1943), "Calling Dr. Death" (1943), "The Fallen Sparrow" (1943), "Lady on a Train" (1945), "Dressed to Kill" (1946), "Tarzan and the Huntress" (1947), "Song Without End" (1960), and "Won Ton Ton: The Dog Who Saved Hollywood" (1976). She made her television acting debut in 1950 on the television series "Robert Montgomery Presents" and went on to appear on such series as "The Cases of Eddie Drake", "Four Star Playhouse", "Lux Video Theatre", "Have Gun - Will Travel", "Cheers", and "Gabriel's Fire" She was nominated in 1949 for the Most Outstanding Television Personality Emmy Award.
