Up for sale is a very nice antique children's book titled: Peck's Bad Boy with the Circus by Hon. George W. Peck. This was one of the books in the PECK'S BAD BOY series of books. This book is illustrated. This book was later made into a Motion Picture in 1938. This is the FIRST EDITION. ABOUT THIS BOOK: Bill Peck receives ten dollars from his parents to go to summer camp and defend his trophy, however he gets forced to spend the money on tickets to a circus that is in town. In revenge he feeds the lions his mom's sleeping pills and ruins Bailey the lion tamer's act. He then goes into the circus camp and falls for bareback rider Fleurette de Cava, who unfortunately sprains her ankle in rehearsals and will lose her contract if she does not perform in the next show. Bailey has the idea of giving Bill a wig and having him do the show with his guidance, but just before the act begins Bailey finds out who drugged his lions. ABOUT THE AUTHOR: George Wilbur Peck (September 28, 1840 - April 16, 1916) was an American writer and politician from Wisconsin. He served as the 17th governor of Wisconsin and the 29th mayor of Milwaukee. CONDITION: This old hard back book is complete and intact, in very good-plus condition. The covers are in very good-plus condition with very light wear. The inside covers are in very good-plus condition with no cracking or separation present at the hinges. The only writing in this book is where the original owner neatly wrote her name on the front endpaper. The pages are in very good to very good-plus condition, the pages are crisp, all pages are tight to the binding. The spine is in very good-plus condition, the lettering is easily read.
