You took it to a local shop and you got the blank stare so you know you need somebody to look at your beloved stereo who actually knows what it is. You are in luck. I have worked on mainline stereo equipment since 1971 so I will be familiar with whatever you have and will be glad to help you with it. I pack a lot of stuff. I have good success with my packing and encourage you to do it this way. First is the bubble wrap. Use the larger bubble in 24 inch widths. Wrap the unit four times, turning it each time so you get the long way and then the short way. This gives you good overlap. Tape it tightly. It should be like a cocoon. The unit then goes into the inner box, fill voids with additional bubble wrap or peanuts. The inner box goes into the outer box with packing peanuts in between. Be sure to put in enough peanuts so the inner box will not move around in transit. Tape well, insure the package. Ship prepaid to: Circle Stereo 100 Commons Rd.
